Corrections policy

We welcome specific reports about calculation errors, outdated rules, unsupported claims, broken sources, confusing units, or misleading explanations.

How to report a problem

Use the contact page and include the calculator URL, inputs used, result received, result expected, and any supporting source. Do not send medical records, financial account numbers, legal documents, passwords, or other sensitive personal information.

How reports are investigated

We reproduce the calculation, compare the implementation with its stated formula, check the cited authority and effective date, and review related tests and pages. A disagreement caused by a different assumption is clarified even when the code is operating as designed.

How corrections are made

Material calculation errors are corrected in the formula implementation, automated tests, worked example, and explanatory text as applicable. Material source or jurisdiction errors are corrected in both visible content and structured metadata. Minor spelling or formatting fixes may be made without a separate notice.

Correction notes

When an error could have materially changed a reader's interpretation or result, we may add a dated note to the affected page describing what changed. We do not silently preserve a known incorrect result for consistency with an older version.
